Thomastown’s rich cultural heritage is reminiscent of the Wendish/German settlement with the preserved buildings of Westgarthtown such as the centuries-old Lutheran Church and cemetery, as well as the original farmhouse, barns, and buildings established between 1851 and 1856.

It has its share of an industrial area that spans more than six square kilometres or around 600 hectares that comprises more than 2,500 properties that provide jobs for more than 8,000 people.

A key industrial asset is the Meridian Business Park that is made up of more than 70 warehouses, a multi-level office complex and a premium retail facility. The business park is conveniently situated between Dalton Road and High Street.

With wide major roads and excellent access to the M80 and the soon-to-open Northeast Link that is expected to service up to 135,000 vehicles daily travelling north and southeast of Melbourne, the Thomastown area will also be getting its share of infrastructure development with Melbourne’s first dedicated busway, a massive upgrade of the Eastern Freeway, new park and ride in Bulleen, and more than 25 kilometres of new and improved cycling and walking paths.
